Question 1

What ID do I need for a notarization?

Accepted Answer

A current government-issued photo ID that meets California requirements — typically a driver's license, state ID card, or passport. The name on the ID needs to match the name on the document.

Question 2

How much does a mobile notary cost?

Accepted Answer

California notary fees are set by law per notarized signature. Travel, waiting time, printing, after-hours, and facility-related fees are quoted separately and disclosed before dispatch. You approve a written, itemized quote before we drive.

Question 3

Do you have an office I can walk into?

Accepted Answer

No — Notary Drive is a mobile, service-area business. Every appointment happens at your location: home, office, hospital, or care facility across Vista and North County San Diego.

Question 4

Can you notarize at a hospital or care facility?

Accepted Answer

Yes — bedside signings at hospitals and care facilities are a core service. Facility appointments require extra pre-screening because access, signer awareness, ID, and document readiness can affect whether the notarization can proceed.

Question 5

Can you help me choose between an acknowledgment and a jurat?

Accepted Answer

We can explain how each one works, but a notary cannot choose the notarial act for you — that would be legal advice. The choice comes from your document, the receiving agency, or your attorney.

Question 6

Do I need witnesses?

Accepted Answer

Some documents require witnesses beyond the notary. Your document or the receiving agency determines this. If witnesses are required, tell us when booking; we can sometimes arrange a neutral witness, quoted at booking.

Question 7

Do all signers need to be present?

Accepted Answer

Yes. California requires each signer to appear in person before the notary, be willing and aware, and be properly identified. There is no notarization without personal appearance.

Question 8

Can you come the same day?

Accepted Answer

Often, yes — same-day and after-hours appointments are available when the schedule allows. Call or text with your city, document type, and preferred time, and we'll confirm availability and quote before dispatch.
